PRODUCT DETAILS

Dharamraj Vrat Katha (Yamraj) is a popular story in Hinduism that is associated with Dharamraj, also known as Yamraj, the god of death. The story is often recited during the Dharamraj Vrat, a fasting ritual dedicated to the deity, which is observed on the second day of the Hindu month of Kartik. According to the legend, a brahmin named Vishnu Sharma was devoted to Lord Vishnu and followed a strict code of conduct. One day, he inadvertently killed a small insect while performing his daily rituals. The incident troubled him deeply, as he believed that he had committed a sin by taking a life. Determined to atone for his mistake, Vishnu Sharma decided to observe the Dharamraj Vrat, which involved fasting and offering prayers to Dharamraj, the god of death. He hoped that by doing so, he would be able to purify himself of the sin of killing the insect. On the day of the vrat, Vishnu Sharma began his fast and performed the necessary rituals. As he was sitting in meditation, he heard the voice of Dharamraj, who appeared before him in the form of a young boy. Dharamraj explained to Vishnu Sharma that he was pleased with his devotion and dedication, and that he had come to offer him a boon. Vishnu Sharma requested that he be granted a long and healthy life, free from sickness and disease. Dharamraj granted his wish, but warned him that he would still have to face the consequences of his actions in his next life. He also advised him to continue his devotion to Lord Vishnu and to perform good deeds in order to accumulate good karma. The story of Dharamraj Vrat ki Katha is often recited during the vrat as a way of reminding devotees of the importance of following a virtuous path in life. It is believed that by observing the vrat and offering prayers to Dharamraj, one can seek his blessings and protection from the trials and tribulations of life.
